These walls are scattered all around the property at Turon Gates. They were built by Chinese miners during the 1850s gold rush to carry water from the river, allowing them to find gold.
This stand of trees made a wonderful composition, with the contrasting colours and the reflection in the water.
These owls are amazing. They mimic their environment (usually dead branches, but trees in general) perfectly, with an amazing combination of perching dead still and wonderful camouflage. This one (and its partner) live in a tree at my place of work.
