A short drive from Lee Vining, California, is an area called the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Walking through here you are able to experience some breath-taking Sierra Nevada scenery. Gem Lake pokes through the juniper trees.
We stayed in Fairbanks for a few days, but the heavy rain drove us out of town. Moving on didn't help with the rain problem, but the Rosehip Campground was set on a lovely bend of the Chena River. This long exposure captures the misty, turbulent conditions perfectly.
Many of the rivers in New Zealand's South Island are truly this colour. The amazing hue is usually as a result of the "glacial flour", or rock dust that has been ground out of the mountains by the glaciers that are found in the Southern Alps.
